SUMMER STAFFSummer Internships and Camp Counselor Positions run from June through August (~June 1 to August 10). Positions may be for as short as two weeks and as long as the entire summer. Room and board (off-site showers) are provided. Summer staffers must be 18 or older, have completed at least one semester of college/university/higher education OR been out of high school for at least one year. (We value life experiences)
Summer employees will be given a base honorarium and may request for aid in securing additional funding. REACH welcomes any and all collaboration between its employees and their respective college or university. Staff members can request to receive credit for classes and volunteer hours through their schools. REACH offers a number of summer staff opportunities, with responsibilities ranging from team leadership, home repair, programming, food services, music, marketing, and more! Summer staff must work well with others, exemplify servant leadership, extend grace, be resourceful, and have a willingness to try new things. Responsibilities may include modeling servant leadership, caring for campers, and participating in daily camp activities, such as service opportunities, programming, and chores. REACH considers itself a teaching facility as well as an impact organization. Time and energy are poured into our summer staffers' growth, development, and personal experiences. Summer staff members are encourages to interpret their job descriptions, adapt their skills, try new approaches, incorporate the knowledge of others, and to think outside the box. REACH tries to connect each staff person with a mentor, a member of the community who will help to guide them through their responsibilities throughout the summer. |

Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older, and have completed at least one semester of college/university/higher education OR been out of high school for at least 12 months (we value life experiences) - Certification in CPR and AED recommended - First aid skills and training recommended - General mobility including, but not limited, to walking, kneeling, and standing (most facilities are not handicapped accessible) - Proven ability to maintain a safe environment for others in adherence with provided protocol and standards - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead activities for large groups of youth - Demonstrated ability to be flexible, energetic, positive, open-minded, and work long hours |
Responsibilities
- Ensure a group of assigned campers is supervised and safe - Prepare and lead a variety of activities that are age-appropriate - Model good behavior for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness (servant leadership) - Perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of campers - Facilitate and encourage participation in camp activities, service opportunities, and facility chores - Interact with community members in a professional and polite manner |
